PAKISTAN:::ILO to holds experience sharing seminar on child labour on Dec 16


imageISLAMABAD: As part of its Decent Work Country Programme the International Labour Organization in collaboration with the European Union was implemented a project on combating abusive child labour to support national efforts to eliminate the worst forms of child labour from Pakistan.
In this connection, the ILO would hold an experience sharing seminar to share its achievements, best practices and lesson learned here on December 16, while the project is ending on December 31, 2013, said a press release here on Wednesday.

Moreover, beneficiaries will also narrate their stories, how this project had helped them to get rid of this menace. The event will also include the launching of songs on child labour sung by Farheeha Pervaiz and Shafqat Amanat Ali.
Lars-Gunnar Wigemark, the Ambassador, European Union Delegation to Pakistan will be the chief guest on the occasion, the Federal Secretary of Human Resource Development, provincial secretaries of the Labour departments, the President Employer Federation of Pakistan, and the General Secretary Pakistan Workers Federation will also participate.
Participants will also include heads of various UN organizations working in Pakistan, diplomats, representatives of employers' and workers' organization, members of civil society and media persons.
