PUTRAJAYA: A landmark High Court ruling that denying a woman employment due to pregnancy was unconstitutional, was upheld after the Government withdrew its appeal before the Court of Appeal on Thursday.

KUALA LUMPUR - Kerajaan tetap akan meneruskan perjanjian Perkongsian Trans-Pasifik (TPP) walaupun PR tidak bersetuju dan membantah perkara tersebut.

Menteri Perdagangan Antarabangsa dan Industri, Datuk Seri Mustapha Mohamed berkata, TPP diteruskan kerana mendapat majoriti penuh daripada badan-badan yang lain.

Menurutnya, sudah menjadi kelaziman dalam sesebuah negara tidak akan mendapat persetujuan penuh untuk membangunkan sesuatu usul.

"Kerajaan ada meminta pandangan dan pendirian daripada badan-badan termasuk Persatuan Pengguna Pulau Pinang (CAP), Majlis Aids Malaysia, Majlis Kanser, BN dan juga PR.
