MALAYSIA:::Segera lakukan penama KWSP

MALAYSIA:::It makes no sense to send back skilled workers

In response to Professor Azizah Kassim from the Institut Kajian Malaysia dan Antarabangsa (Ikmas) of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), the Master Builders Association Malaysia (MBAM) would like to clarify her statement that “the illegals who are legitimised through the programme may stop paying their levies”.

With all due respect, the levies are paid by employers through bank draft and NOT by the foreign workers as what she had stated earlier. Therefore, the issues of foreign workers not paying the levies does not arise in this case.

HONG KONG:::Foreign domestic workers in Hong Kong should not have to suffer abuse in silence

This Thursday is International Migrants Day - an opportune moment for us to celebrate the positive role played around the world by different types of migrants. In Hong Kong, the most visible example of this is the very valuable contributions made by foreign domestic workers, particularly in alleviating family care responsibilities and enabling many to, in turn, return to their careers.
Despite this important role, many foreign domestic workers face significant barriers and injustice in their daily life. Late last month, the Equal Opportunities Commission released the findings of the first questionnaire survey for foreign domestic workers on the sexual harassment and discrimination they face at work. The results are sobering: Of the nearly 1,000 workers surveyed, 6.5 per cent said they had been sexually harassed at the workplace or at a work-related event in the preceding 12 months. According to the Immigration Department, there are currently over 330,000 foreign domestic workers in Hong Kong. Extrapolating from these figures means that tens of thousands of foreign domestic workers may be at risk of sexual harassment each year.

MALAYSIA:::Malaysians' Attitude Contributes To Influx Of Foreign Workers

File picFile picKUALA LUMPUR: The lackadaisical attitude of Malaysians is one of the reasons Malaysia has become a 'goldmine' for foreign workers, said National Council of Professors (MPN).
Its secretary-general, Prof Datuk Dr Raduan Che Ros said Malaysians failed to seize opportunities provided by the government and this had caused several sectors, including business, to be dominated by foreign workers.
This should not have happened as business licenses were only issued to locals, he added.
Raduan was speaking at a MPN conference themed "National Dilemma: Foreign Labour Issues and Challenges in Malaysia", attended by 200 academicians here Monday.
MPN politics, security and international affairs cluster member, Prof Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Abdul Aziz said the attitude of some Malaysians in accepting the presence of foreigners made foreign nationals to feel comfortable living here.

"The agreement emphasizes collaboration between BFC and GMAC in the process of identifying and remediating any confirmed cases of child labour," the statement said.

MALAYSIA:::Pekerja asing: Hapus sistem ejen pembekal

Majlis Profesor Negara (MPN)

MALAYSIA:::Cadangan mohon ambil pekerja asing online
