Rally to support railway workers in Korea!

Rally to support railway workers in Korea!

Published 2 January 2014
On December 22nd, the South Korean government under right-wing President Park Geun-hye attacked the offices of the KCTU (Korean Confederation of Trade Unions) with 4,600 police in an attempt to break the longest rail strike in South Korean history. The strike was started in an attempt to stop the government from privatizing the rail system. On 30 December, the KRWU (Korean Rail Workers Union) reached an agreement that ended the 23-day strike, but the struggle continues. Korean workers have received significant international solidarity, and the KCTU has called two more general strikes for 9 January and 16 January.

The MUA and ITF have called a solidarity rally in Melbourne Australia, for Wednesday 8 January at 12:30pm at the South Korean Consulate, 636 St. Kilda Road.

Support workers in Korea!
Stop the repression of Korean trade unionists!
Stop the privatisation of the Korean rail system!

MALAYSIA:::Kuasa membeli pengguna berkurangan

  • Prof Dr Shazali Abu Mansor Prof Shazali
