PAKISTAN:::ILO to holds experience sharing seminar on child labour on Dec 16


imageISLAMABAD: As part of its Decent Work Country Programme the International Labour Organization in collaboration with the European Union was implemented a project on combating abusive child labour to support national efforts to eliminate the worst forms of child labour from Pakistan.
In this connection, the ILO would hold an experience sharing seminar to share its achievements, best practices and lesson learned here on December 16, while the project is ending on December 31, 2013, said a press release here on Wednesday.

Islamabad:::ILO showcases project on empowering vulnerable groups


International Labour Organisation (ILO) organised a national event to showcase its project ‘Empowering Vulnerable Groups through Employment, Education and Training’ arranged by the Value Resources here on Tuesday.

The programme for the event featured dialogue session, plenary discussions and information sharing segments. The project highlights were shared with the audience through a video documentary.

Argentina Becomes 15th Country to Ratify ILO Convention 189 on Domestic Work


In another major step forward for the global movement to expand domestic workers' rights, Argentina last month ratified International Labor Organization (ILO) Convention No. 189 on domestic work, which extends fundamental labor rights to an estimated 53 million domestic workers worldwide.

PARIT BUNTAR - Disebabkan merajuk gaji bulanannya tidak dibayar hampir setahun, seorang kakitangan berstatus kontrak sebuah sekolah, di sini didakwa menghilangkan diri sejak seminggu lalu.

Sebelum didapati hilang, Mat Taib Mustaffa, 63, yang bekerja sebagai pembantu pejabat sekolah sejak lebih 10 tahun lalu, memaklumkan ahli keluarga ingin keluar sebentar ke pekan Parit Buntar pada jam 10 pagi, 1 Disember lalu.
