The MAS Act which was tabled to Parliament on 26 November is seen as a discrimination act againts the employees and their Trade Unions. AKTA MAS 2014 ( MALAYSIAN AIRLINE SYSTEM BERHAD )
KESATUAN KEBANGSAAN ANAK-ANAK KAPAL KABIN MALAYSIA Reg:1089
PRESS RELEASE
The MAS Act which was tabled to Parliament on 26 November is seen as a
discrimination act againts the employees and their Trade Unions
Judging the contexts in the MAS Act, Khazanah Nasional’s proposal to adopt the MAS
Act have raise many doubts and questions on how employees will be unable to file any
Industrial disputes against the airline itself.
It is seen to steer employee’s and its Unions off the normal legal process in filing any
Industrial disputes against the carrier. There are also several clauses to provide
protection and to also over throw the current legal process which has been recognised
by law under the Trade Union Act and Industrial Relations Act.
The is an absolute picture of what MAS Act is painting. Other then that, it will also help
protect any liabilities which third parties may claim against Malaysia Airlines Berhad.
NUFAM wantst Khazanah to furnish the National Union a copy of this Act before it can
even be tabled to Parliament.
If Parliament endorses something of this sort, it will show imbalance and injustice to all
MAS employees and their respective Union’s per se. We cannot allow something of this
sort to slip through as the livelihood of these employees are involved in the restructuring
process and their future will be at stake. We cannot allow something which has never
been done before to past through in benefit of those in the business This will be an
absolute challenge to the current practices and laws of the Industrial Relations.

MALAYSIA:::Addressing Malaysia’s inequality problem
Economic growth is good. However, like anything good, overindulgence and foolishness can land us in trouble. High-income nation with high inequality is a silent and unseen troublemaker like high cholesterol and high blood pressure. We must not ignore the adverse effects of high inequality in our eager pursuit of high-income nation status. The World Economic Forum recently recognised inequality as the no.1 global concern in its Global Agenda 2015.

MALAYSIA:::MTUC calls for RCI on influx of foreign workers
Malaysian Trade Unions Congress (MTUC) has renewed its call on the government to set up a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on foreign workers after Human Resources Minister revealed that there are almost six million foreign workers in the country.

Our sovereignty is at stake,” MTUC Sarawak secretary Andrew Lo said through a press statement yesterday.
“The mine disaster in Pantu, Sarawak has revealed that we even have North Koreans. During the 6P legalisation programme in 2011, 2,088,358 foreign workers had been registered, of whom 1,135,499 were illegals. In four years, that number has increased to six million!”
