Deputy Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Abd Muttalib said Socso has already been asked to review their relevant procedures and laws to find ways to expedite compensation process for the next of kin.

The Human Resources Ministry will ensure the next-of-kin of the MH17 crew will receive appropriate compensation, particularly from the Social Security Organisation (Socso).
Deputy Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Abd Muttalib said the agency had been asked to review their relevant procedures and laws to find ways to expedite the process to help them.
“Unlike the MH370 incident, flight MH17 was confirmed to have crashed and the crew killed, hence they are entitled for compensation,” Bernama reported.
Ismail was speaking to reporters after attending the Occupational Health and Safety Awareness campaign and breaking of fast at the Asturi Metal Builders (M) Sdn Bhd’s factory here last night.
He said the ministry would obtain information on the crew members and the incident before making an official announcement on the amount to be given, the national wire agency reported.
The Malaysia Airlines jetliner flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur was allegedly shot down over Ukraine.
The Boeing 777 was carrying 283 passengers and 15 crew members.
